I noticed from a picture on the 351 Water thread, which shows both 351 and Fortis place, there seems to be quite a few workers on the Fortis site... that's great!

I take it we're going to get plenty of before and after comparisons for these two projects and others once they're finished, right Signal?

I don't have any shots of these areas from before construction began, ha! Only once it's started.

I agree with Jeddy, Fortis is going to have to kick it into a higher gear if it wants to be maxed out this year! I don't know if it's just me, but progress seems to have stalled over the past few weeks.. It's probably just me!

Was it supposed to be maxed out this year?? I thought I heard somewhere that it was supposed to reach it's maximum height by the end of the fall.. I'm probably wrong again xD

But at this rate, 351 will probably be opened much sooner than Fortis. The curtain wall will probably be done before the winter begins, which I assume would make working through the winter much easier (If the no snow can get in)

But unlike 351, fortis will probably stall out for the winter and resume in the spring.

And a before and after/timeline of both projects would be great when it is completely finished

They could probably still keep going throughout the winter. I expected the MUN residence houses to stop last winter as well, but they chugged away through the snow and rain. I hope Fortis does this well, I'd like to see that building maxed out and curtained ASAP just to see what our skyline will look like

Same here - my thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones.

I hope the other workers will add some sort of memorial to him as they finish the building - even if it's just hiding his name somewhere in the concrete.

Yeah, there should be some sort of little memorial for him.

But, aren't workers required to be wearing harnesses when working at heights like that?

I don't know. And it's gotten so gusty outside.

The CBC website says

The RNC and Occupational Health and Safety officials are on the scene investigating.
So I guess we will see in the coming days. The early edition news comes on in ten minutes so I'll be sure to watch to get the latest

You don't need to wear a harness when a handrail is installed. Unfortunately, in this case, the handrail broke away.
