This is very encouraging to the overall success of FDP. And, FWIW, I think Candytopia will be staying for a while (as it was mentioned the business was a pop-up temp thing) because I hear it is wildly popular.

Candytopia is staying till the end of January, I believe. I hope a second Apple store takes its place as the permanent tenant!

Me too. But I have a feeling Candytopia will re-new and stay another round due to its popularity. There's got to be space if it gets bumped.

An apple store would kill there. But those stores kill everywhere they open.

Was in the city yesterday and snapped some pics. Looking good. I'm not really seeing how occupancy is fall 2021 but completion is May 2022. Do we think this will top out fall of 2021? If so, I supposed they could work on fitting out some floors or do it as they go, but seems like a long lag between occupancy and completion.

They said The Laurel could be topped by Thanksgiving next year, so I think Arthaus could top out around the same time. These concrete skyscrapers go up faster than we think, I remember looking at the skyline in August 2017 from Westville, NJ and I could only see the top of the W/Element crane. Fast forward to a year later in August 2018 and the tower had finished concrete work late in the month.

Are Arthaus and Laurel being constructed by the same company?

Hum. After all its initial problems the W hotel reached street level around November of 2016. Was top out around November 2018? May be doable. It's taking another 14 months or so from that for W completion, but hotels are different.

Laurel is Hunter Douglas. I'm forgetting the GC for Arthaus, but I don't think it's the same. I know that Harman Group is the structural engineering sub for Arthaus but forgetting the GC.

The poster on site (see pic) says the Arthaus GC is Intech.

Noting that Hunter Roberts is doing 3720 Chestnut, which has been going up a floor every 3 days..

[Corrected the propogating error. I'm not paying attention either :-)]

Oops, I meant Hunter Roberts. Hunter Douglas makes blinds. You guys knew what I meant, though. You're right: the electrical sub identifies the GC at Arthaus as Intech: http://anmarcorporation.com/about/

Is the big pour happening sometime today? I see what looks like pump equipment for the pour.

They're definitely making final preparations. And one of our insiders here posted a page or so back that it would be today. Maybe they'll start sometime tonight (after rush hour) and continue nonstop through the weekend? Isn't that what they usually do for these big pours involving hundreds of truck loads of concrete?

I think you're right. I remember that with the W/Hotel pour.

Big pour started this morning. Looks like a section of Broad in front of project is blocked off. Props to Carson Concrete!

Wow, that was quick! Looks like they've pretty much already covered all the rebar.

Annnnnd, we're done. Last concrete truck just pulled away, surface finishing is complete (at least what's visible on the webcam), and a plastic covering is being pulled over the top of the mat. And all in one Saturday morning.
