I believe Transport Canada or Nav Canada issues bulletins to pilots.

Lol! I have a buddy who is a tower crane operator.

You are on the right track Stormer; Nav Canada does issue 'Notices to Airmen' (NOTAMs) with regards to such temporary structures. (But 'are not normally posted until immediately before erected, and deleted immediately after dismantling.)

Presumably the crane will sit atop the pilings in the rectangle

There is supposed to be a crane up by month's end. Look at all the water in there though!

Weird. I would think it would go at the south end of the site, where there is no "tower" part.

Thanks for the pic update, none the less!

There was water, but they pumped it out. That is actually wet concrete.

Good.

I wonder if the crane will be erected, at the outset, at max-height for more elbow room.

FCC just received notification that Hamilton Street will be closed to traffic from July 7 to 11th to allow for the tower crane installation.

The east sidewalk & access to all businesses/residences on both sides of Hamilton we be unaffected.

The operator's cab will be approximately 250' high; the boom will be 450'.

It looks shorter than that. Maybe 12-13 storeys. Maybe they will raise it to 250 feet later. Mosaic (T3) is 278 ft.

They'll add sections to the mast later; they still first need to attach the boom.
