Great shots. I really love how this building complements the curve of Peachtree.

Note how 1180 seems to disappear:

I count 17 floors. Another 19 to go. This thing is going to be taller than I imagined.

I think 1010 will eventually block the view of 1180 from here...

It definitely will. It will be almost exactly the same height at 1100 Peachtree, across 12th Street.

I think it may be a couple floors higher than you think. Last time I walked by the development I was surprised to see that the spray-painted numbers on the wooden elevator area were higher than I thought. I think the first residential floor was 6 or 7; I'm leaning towards 7. Anyway, I think they are counting some of the first few large retail floors as multiple floors. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You can see where the residential floors start on 1010's website. They''ve poured the 21st floor.

By my calculation, that would make the tower portion (the part sticking out of the parking and retail base) a little less than half way up... Man this thing is going to have one hell of a presence on Peachtree. Especially the way it sticks out like that...

However this building runs with the long side parallel to Peachtree so it presents much more of a presence in the skyline.

Also adds variety too...

The building will be 36 floors up from street level.

Southwest shear wall mat being poured today...

There's a flurry of activity down in that hole today. The large mat for the shear wall on the south side of the block is being poured right now. You can also see the holes excavated for several pile caps near the southwestern corner of the lot. The excavations for the pile caps exposed the heads of auger cast piles that were drilled and poured earlier, and you can clearly see those piles on the webcam at http://www.oxblue.com/client/brasfie...e/1010midtown/. One of the portable crane operators told me that many of those piles were drilled over 90 feet down, so this foundation has some very deep legs.

^^ Cool info....but you should put it in the 12th and Midtown thread (wherever it is). I love watching this stuff go on, though....it makes the structural engineer in me very happy

Great pics, always great to see these buildings from angles that are different from what we're able to see from the webcams.

5.5 floors to go?
