Christ the already obnoxious wind on Waveland is going to be horrible. I'm going to miss the lawn and dog run too...my daughter likes to play on the hill and the dog run is really spacious...let's the dogs stretch their legs.

That's always been an obvious high-rise site. What did you think was going to be built there? Or, did you think it would/should remain as open space?!

Most disappointing (Renelle) because of its size, I assume?

The design itself won't be winning any awards, but its decent enough.

Nice pics, the Navy Pier Hotel is going to be huge! Strangely it’s not that many rooms

Yes, that development is massive. I walk by it often, as it's only about a mile or so away from where I live. It's going to be pretty slick when it's completed, especially with the Target at the SE end of the retail side of it.

A great surprise. Thought it would be maybe half that size. The whole area has transformed nicely from a decade ago. Though still a bit to go but a lot has happened in the last decade

Yes, 1000X over. I've always thought of it as the companion piece to the jail on VanBuren -- just more crappily rendered.

Especially since it faces Ronan's Chicago Poetry Foundation on its south, which is a beautiful piece of contemporary urban architecture.

Christ man chill. I said I was going to miss the green space and I'm not looking forward to making that stretch of road more unpleasant. I didn't say I was going to petition my alderman to block the development. You really jumped to an unwarranted conclusion there.

Any news on 171 N. Wabash (7 stories) just to the north? The intersection of Wabash and Benton Place is going to get quite the transformation.
