Because a house mom from California who moved here a few years ago started a group that does its best at keeping toll roads from being built.

troll roads?

Speaking of that section of 1604, I think I heard or read somewhere about 2-3 weeks ago that they wanted to build a superstreet on that stretch of highway similar to what they are doing to 281. Anybody else hear about this?

Yeah, it was approved about a month ago.

Thumbs up More Tier 1 schools in Texas!

I believe that Texas deserves more Tier 1 schools than what it has. California has nine and Texas has only 3, of course, The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A & M, and Rice University. I think that the state's brain power is concentrated too much in a few areas. Cities grow based on an educated workforce. Two of the cities in Texas that deserve Tier 1 schools are San Antonio and Dallas. So take heed forumers!

The webcam gives a nice view of the front of the terminal but it looks like nothing has been done on the wing for the gates. Does anyone have a recent photo that shows different views than the webcam?

Please tell me that VIA's BRT service isn't called PRIMO. Could it be cheesier?

Wiki is hardly an authority, but this name came from somewhere and someone had enough of a reason to take the time to post it into the Wiki...

Sadly, that's exactly what VIA is calling their BRT. It's on page 26 of the PDF.

I didn't take a photo but when I flew in a couple of months ago I can say that it was really impressive from the terminal view. Seeing it from the tiered roadway doesn't do it justice imo.

Looking forward to seeing some pics. Please try to get the runway side where the gates will be if you can.

Oldmanshirt, I'll probably be there by Xmas myself. So maybe I'll have some photos to show you.

I'm hoping we can get a good deal on a Continental flight so I can see the inside. If not, I'll try to get some pics of the gates and the double-decker roadway.

All I have is this old one from the runway. I took it in early Nov. I've flown out a couple times since then, but haven't had a chance to get one.

I was by there the other day. I should have grabbed a shot of it, but it kind of sneaked up on me actually. I did get some pics of some of the buildings along 410 & I-10.

Kind of late news...

Spirit Airlines suspended service to San Antonio International Airport on Tuesday, said Misty Pinson, spokeswoman.

The Miramar, Fla.-based low-cost airline launched nonstop service from San Antonio to Fort Lauderdale in January of 2008. It also offered $18.36 "Independence Fares" to kick off the service.

Spirit Airlines offered one flight three days a week from San Antonio. It also suspended service to Colombia, S.C. on March 6 and Trinidad and Tobago on March 31.
------
I don't know if this is a bad sign for Spirit

Hello all,

I'm originally from San Antonio and now going to USC out here in LA. I've been a viewer of this site for a couple of years now, and glad to be a part of the group.

Here are a few photos I've had over the past year I've flown into San Antonio.

Best,
John
