Was in SA this past weekend. The new Hyatt makes a great addition to the skyline... but what do you guys think about the street level appeal? It didn't feel that "friendly" driving by. Is is better as a pedestrian?

MySa's Downtown blog has a new post up with plenty of photos of the finished Main Plaza and a little peak at what the Courtyard by Marriott looks like from the west.

Why are there no people in those pictures? Every time I'm at main plaza it's pretty crowded.

Looks great! But one would think that one of our SA lovers with camera would have been down there taking photos! Looks like something the city (car crazy) can be proud of!!! Eliminating two streets so they could make an even bigger plaza?!? Cool. So someone who pretends to love SA and lives there and owns a camera...do us all a favor and show some SA pride and share some photos with us.

Thanks!

(man cannot believe I have to beg).

I'm really kicking myself that I didn't get over to see The Vistana. Next time! Anyone know where that photo was taken from?

If you're talking about the view from the webcam, I'm pretty sure it's mounted on the top floor of the apartment building behind the Vistana and to the right in your photo here. The one with the little satellite dishes on the roof. Is that part of the hospital?

^ Yeah, that is part of the hospital. I forget the exact name, but yes, it's part of it. I was hoping there'd be a parking garage or something I hadn't thought of.

I'm just guessing, but it looks like the correct angle for the shot on the webcam. The corner of that building, the Vistana and the Tower Life building all line up... just like you see in the webcam view.

Hopefully they're fixing it up because it's a cool old building. Is it near the Alamo?
