HONOLULU | Aloha Kai | 350 FT | 39 FLOORS

Project: Aloha Kai

Quote:
Aloha Kai Condominiums
Proposed 128 Condominium Units
39 Story Tower Construction to commence in 2014
Current YMCA Site Honolulu, Hawaii
(Across from Ala Moana Shopping Center)

The Aloha Kai condo tower will be located on the current Central YMCA site on Atkinson Drive and directly across from the Ala Moana Shopping Center east entrance. San Diego based MB Property Acquisitions, the developer of Watermark luxury condos, will build the condo tower. YMCA will build a new but smaller facility adjacent to the condo tower.

The slender 39 story high condo tower will have only 128 units which is small for a high-rise and the narrow footprint shouldn’t overwhelm the neighborhood. From the renderings available it seems there will be about four good-sized units per floor, each with at least one lanai.

The condos are positioned behind and in-between the Yacht Harbor Towers. Owners will likely be able see the excellent yacht harbor views in-between the two towers, but the towers will still obstruct views of the ocean.

The project is now conditionally approved by the Planning Commission and sales are expected to start in late 2014.

As of July 2018, YMCA is suing the developer (Oliver McMillian):
