It still won’t be entirely grade separated because of the intersections with other non-transit rail lines no?

The Elwood Diamond, where the O-Train Trillium intersects VIA's right-of-way, being the most significant significant crossing on the system, will be grade separated.

The Trillium railyards will also be relocated west of Albion, closer to the main line. I unfortunately don't have any links showing the detailed plans of how, or if, the little used CP tracks will be separated from the Trillium tracks in and around the yards.

CP is planning to abandon those tracks soon. (They've already filed for it). Once abandoned there will be no level junctions with mainline railways.

Good to know.

Still no plans to double-track on the entirety of the line though right?

Unfortunately not. Trillium Line is going to remain a sad, pathetic piece of infrastructure compared to the Confederation Line.

Sure it’ll look a lot less shiny compared to the Confederation line, but still pretty cool nonetheless. i rode both for the first time last weekend and enjoyed the system very much.

A 12-minute frequency, even with single-track sections, is better than what a lot of electrified, double-tracked light rail systems in the US are offering during peak and off-peak.

City of Edmonton update No. 4

Although behind schedule, this phase pushing ahead in 2014 with the City funding part of the province's traditional contribution through an interest free loan from the province (since converted to a grant by the province) appears to have been a risk worth taking especially with energy prices busting mid 2014, yes over 5 years ago the Saudi's let prices fall.

https://transformingedmonton.ca/the-...nt-and-future/
If they had waited, advanced this project under the Federal Liberal-Alberta NDP cycle instead of the Federal Conservative-Provincial PC's, it would still be under construction, but would they have had any chance at Valley Line West or the Blatchford Extension like they did in the Federal Liberal-Alberta NDP cycle, no. Will the city take on some risk again? So far it looks like it.

Calgary in 2014 had completed the West LRT in 2012 and had a funding hangover (i.e. were burnt) from provincial government "cash-flow re-profiling." Calgary also opened the Tuscany LRT Red line (or NW line) extension in August 2014 and no new LRT was to happen "for a long while." The SE councilor pushed to advance what would become the Green Line for this cycle, the Federal Liberal-Alberta NDP cycle. Now no provincial funding for this provincial government's term (4 years) that can't be clawed back for both YEG and YYC. Who knows what's going to happen in Calgary; it's city politics is well, not harmonious.

Good 2019 REM progress; https://rem.info/en/news/recap-2019

Lots more on the schedule for 2020; https://rem.info/en/work-schedule

It will be very surprising if the Dorval extension happens with the TBM imminent start; https://www.ville.dorval.qc.ca/en/ne...-200000-people

Eglinton is not getting any love here either.
[As rbt notes above,] Hurontario is supposed to be complete fourth quarter 2024 with major construction starting summer 2020; https://blog.metrolinx.com/2020/01/0...this-new-year/
