This has already been discussed few pages ago. It is because of the view cones, but IMO it doesn't look that bad. It will turn out nicely.

Yes, there are all sorts of places now (near and far) to which the Telus condo tower is making it's presence known. These pics are from the corner of Smithe and Seymour across from the Orpheum entrance.

Thanks!

I wonder if those are the lanterns for the alley?

BTW - Nosh (Glowbal) has a café counter already open in the office tower lobby.

They're also installing brackets on the sawtooth part of the condo podium, so I expect glazing sometime soon.

When I walked by there last night, it looked to me as if that would be the new location for Glowbal restaurant, and I am guessing those are little themed bird-cage cubicles people can sit in at the patio area. Not too sure though.

There are 2 Glowbal restaurants going into the building, they are both pretty big (300+ seats) from what I hear.

Unique looking booths, I guess.
Thanks.

Here's a closer look at a booth. I was originally thinking they were going to be cages for the Telus critters from their ads.

And there is this little patio, visible from the Georgia Street sidewalk.

This is what I could see through one of the glass doors off of Seymour Street under the overhang.

Is the condo tower topped out yet? If not, how many more floors to go?

At this point, I think there are 5 more floors to go.

They've ripped up some of the sidewalk again in front of the Kingston Hotel. You can see the hotel owner in this pic below. He had just come out to put his sandwich board sign out on the bit of sidewalk that is still there.

Here's a glimpse of what the zigzag facade glazing might be. I noticed these window sections just appeared. They seem to be the size and shape to go on the zigzags.

Thanks!

So they just couldn't continue the same colour glazing/spandrel around the corner??

- I guess the dark glass on Robson matches the dark glass in the "channel" above, and the light glass on Richards matches the mess above.

Well, there you go. Looks like a pretty good colour match to the glazing on the tower above on the Richards Street facade (see last pic).

Thanks for the photos. Again, I don't like it at all. Looks so plain and boring.

My thoughts as well.
