Does Portland have height restrictions? It appears so!

Yes. The wealthy west hills community is really concerned with its views of Mt. Hood.

And the Kings and Queens of the hills in San Francisco won't allow any buildings higher than 3 stories in the north, as it would mar their views of San Francisco Bay.

I sort of figured Portland had height restrictions.

I think some people on this forum look at it like a blessing and that Portland's skyline is perfectly fine since they believe it helps fill things in on a more fine-grain level, with more midrises being built. I'm of the position that we can have both and it's sort of whack that Portland has such a squat skyline.

Hello, I'm new here. There is a new update to the PORTLAND page. I don't know if any artists will see this, but here goes. The following building is scheduled to break ground this week:

Thank you!

Fantastic update!

For those unaware, Portland has it's own SSP page:

Portland's SSP page is too hard to wade through. If it were all on one page it would be usable.

Agreed. It is so atomized that it is almost useless, and many of the various sub- sub- sub-forums haven't seen activity in years. It would be better to just make one thread out of all the sliced and diced ones.

Thank you for the updates on Portland! I have ALWAYS LOVED THE CITY OF PORTLAND AND FEEL THAT IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL DOWNTOWN. ANYWAY... HOPEFULLY EVERYONE CAN CONTINUE TO USE THIS PAGE TO POST UPDATES ON BECAUSE THE PORTLAND SITE ON SSP IS QUITE A BIT AND TIME CONSUMING TO SORT THROUGH! ANYWAY I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR POSTS AND THE PHOTOS!!!!

Agreed. But I’ve brought this up before and no one cares to change the mini fiefdom.

That last one is straight up “neo brutalist” if that could ever be a thing.
