Masterfully ugly! Obviously city hall is disconnected from future planning and good design. The need to go up has to start now as we are running out of room, especially here where you can get away with it.

One would think with the incredibly low vacancy rates, the developers would go higher. These buildings fill up almost as fast as they're built.

They are filling up faster than that. I know for the new 7 story apartment building in Summerside, I talked to a woman who signed a lease in November maybe, well before Xmas, and she said she would not be moving in until late Sept or October.

My guess would be that they will add another level to bring it to 6. I don't think I would like to see anymore than 7 levels.......... parking garages are inherently ugly.

There you go. So if you have a waiting list, why not add a floor or two? It would be more profitable in the long run, wouldn't it?

......Waite said the expansion at the Fitzroy parkade includes an addition that will extend onto Kent Street and a reconfiguration of the stalls, which he said will allow for more spaces.

So it's not going up from what I read from this!

I heard Timber Mart was moving to that area. Is this in an area different than what was thought to be the CubeSmart?

The fenced in area is on the west side of the parking lot. Not even close to the old Sears building and beyond the fence is the construction site for the new Cube Smart storage building.
I'm not sure what the fence is all about. Are they building a new building or is this for Timber Mart storage?

APPROVED
165 & 185 John Yeo
Drive Lot Consolidation Pan American
Properties

I see there is a APM commercial development sign in place on this property. It's right across from the new Reliable Motors parking lot/Kent Building supplies roadway on John Yeo Drive.

More to follow on this I'm sure.

APPROVED
78 Allen Street Partial demolition of commercial
building.
Brighton Construction

This is the demolition of the old Reliable Motors on Allen St. It's a partial demolition which will leave the former service bays. It is being prepped for a new Kia dealership building which is now on North River Rd. Both Charlottetown's Hyundai and Kia are owned by Steele auto-group in Halifax.

165 and 185 are both occupied. Fisheries / Home care have 165 and 185 is Coast Guard and Birdstairs. Weird that Pan American would consolidate these two parcels.

Stratford Highlights

The Stratford Emergency Services building. I'm sure it is well accepted.

Summerside has lots of money to build a solar farm but it's police and fire station are falling down. I'm sure the emergency services personnel in that town are envious.

Stratford Highlights

Looks like San Quentin prison. I guess it will be a welcome building as it has low-rental units. Stratford is growing quickly and needs units for seniors and lower income residences.
