Woot? Panama isn't getting the tallest in Latin America anymore? Yay yay!

But really, great for Mexico city. Last time I was there it was just a bunch of chunky buildings. I really like the first design but the second one is just too blah!! I guess in a city where skyscrapers are nearly impossible, not all designs would work. Both buildings have a lot of steel structure surrounding them. Anyways, I'd say work on the second one, keep the first one. Twin towers would look cool with the first design.

I want the first one. GIMME THE FIRST ONE!!!

Awesome for México. I really find that first design an attractive look for a facade. I wish it were in my city...

I agree the second is a bit...curvy, but still not bad. I am simply a bigger fan of sharper edges on buildings.

I realy doubt this will happen
The article looks really unreliable:
Quote:
The two mixed-use towers - intended to be completed for the bicentenary celebrations in 2010 – will be set in two strategic areas of Mexico City; the Azcapotzalco Technology Park and the Xochimilco Ecology Park.
Plus the locations for the towers don't make sense Xochimilco is a park and azcapotzalco is an industrial zone

That one on the right is pure sex - a tribute to the most beautiful form in nature the human female body. But why is this being bumped after 2 years?

Info... both projects was the first prize of a competition by a local Architecture Magazine, they never intend to be a real proposal, was just only an exercise of creativity.

Well, they both should be real proposals, I love both. If no one's going to build them in Mexico City, my vote is to build both designs in Phoenix

I'd prefer the left one over the right one, but I'd much prefer over both of them the original OMA design for the Torre Bicentenario (shot down by Benito Juarez's alderwoman, on grounds that a dubiously architecturally significant art moderne garage would have to be torn down):

Wow, those 2 towers are... Amazing!!!

Those are two of the sexiest building design's I've ever seen (to bad there just ideas, rather then actual proposals.) If these were built somewhere, it would be one lucky city. But if they were to be built, it would most likely be Dubai as anything can be built there.

arlekin_m - You would actually rather see that building go up then on of those 2? That building you posted just looks terrible IMO.

It reminds me of the Hermitage Towers in Paris.

Ridiculous. They look like abstract interpretations of Seven of Nine from Stark Trek Voyager.
