There are multiple towers that do that in New York.

Can any progress of the interiors on the lower levels be seen?

The facade work started about 1 year ago.

EDIT: Also Wilshire Grand in LA, at least the top part.

Some of the skyscraper light shows in China or the Middle East are spectacular.
Target headquarters in Minneapolis can also be included as having a large lighting display at the top of the building.

Very unique photos... these make NYC seem like its in a totally different climate. The colors of the sky and vegetation, and also the angle, makes it look like the area is pancake flat and semi-arid..

This is what NYC would look like in south texas. Never seen anything like it

^ Not all that flat actually, which a lot of people outside of NY are surprised to learn. And if you look at that photo, you can see a huge ridge that stretches west to Staten Island (and a 400 ft hill that is the highest elevation in all of NYC), and then further east to Long Island.

Is this pretty much the most prominent tower in the city now? Or is it still 1WTC?

Those diamonds are gonna look incredible on the skyline at night.

Also in Dimon's interview posted by NYguy a few posts back he said the top 300 feet will be illuminated and it costed $50-$75 million to do it. It sounds like they have plans to illuminate it for the holidays and other special occasions.

Yeah I figured it was probably mentioned/rendered somewhere.

In the interview he says it will be able to project images, faces, and whatever as well so it seems more advanced than just some colored spotlights.

It will be the same as the ESB or some of the other towers that can do the same. Imagine something like this, just on 270 Park.

Oh wow I never saw this stuff with Kiss etc for the ESB. Thanks.

Well that's some nice lighting tech - should be exciting.

I was surprised. Doesn't the Chrysler Building sit in a kind of hollow/low area that makes it appear shorter in wide angle photos? Dwarfed almost, and it is well over a thousand feet tall. When visiting my brother in Manhattan, I was gazing at it from across the street. I asked a cop if the Chrysler had tours like the ESB. He looked at me like I was crazy .
