As much as I really like and respect the gentleman heading up Stone Development...he simply has not had experience in a development of this type. However, if there is someone who can overcome this deficiency, it's Guy!

Backup files have been posted for the Monday July 8 meeting. But there are no new renderings or more specific info about the tower in them which was requested by the HLC Commissioners at June's meeting. This project is also on the agenda for the July 22 meeting. But there is request on the July 22 agenda to postpone that until the August 26 meeting. So I don't know what the point of this Monday's meeting would be.

We should get more details about this project on Monday. It's item #8 on the HLC meeting agenda. No backup files were posted for the meeting.

Great way to preserve history and create needed office space in the urban core. With the new revenue caps, having 1/2 a billion and growing in historic property coming off the books grows less sustainable by the day.

The HLC wanted more info and better renderings for next week's meeting. They got some of that. Here are new renderings. It's ~40-stories.

This is top of my list for projects that I hope come to fruition.

Reminds me of some of the "super skinny" buildings going up in NYC. I love it.

It looks like office, obviously. But I did not see any confirmation of that in the backup files. Based on the tower rendering and the building next to it, it could be close to 600'.

The ground floor is a restaurant, which is a good public use of a historic structure.

If I say I really like it, it probably won't get built, but if I say I HATE it........

The first version had vehicle lifts to take cars up to parking levels. This version deleted them and added restaurant/Bar space. The parking has to be off site now.

The adjacent Commerica Building (or whatever it is called now) has plenty of parking. When it was built, they marketed it as having double the required parking. I'm glad they aren't building any more parking. It is already too difficult to get in and out of Downtown at rush hour.

This reminds me a lot of buildings going up in Toronto. Except there, the older masonry structure at the base is more often than not 8 or 10 stories.

Looks like a quick massing study. Don't Blame them to not invest too much time.
But.... I'd rather see this than have the lodge torn down.
