Nice find, I had thought the port wasn't going to make those posts anymore, the last one was all the way back in early September.

I really like the current painting of the air force one. Little anxious about the new red, white blue color scheme.

Just saw a screen shot of the new paint scheme. Blue belly extending up the sides a bit, thin red stripe above that, then all white above that. I think it looks kind of classy. I was never that impressed with the baby blue on the current. Can't post the pic because again, I'm a moron, but its my temporary avatar for the moment.

Looks too much like US Airways for my liking. The current scheme is unique.

Maybe it's just because it's what I'm used to, but the way Air Force One appears now is more distinctive. The new design is ok, but it looks too much like a common airline livery. It's almost like the old American Airlines livery from 25 years ago.

On the technical end, the 747-8 isn't capable of refueling in the air, which is something I would have thought they'd want to be able to do in the event of an emergency of any kind. It just seems a bit limiting to not be able to have that capability anymore.

I thought I read somewhere part of the light blue sticking around was that it blended with the sky when viewing from ground level, helping it a bit from a security standpoint.

That would make sense except why would they change it to dark blue now if that was the case? Maybe they want to up the odds against the current president.

They're not just wanting a new paint job. The idea is to replace the current plane with a new 747-8. Besides my comparison to the new paint job resembling the old American Airlines livery, someone else noted that it resembles one of his planes.

The current Boeing 747s have been in use for nearly three decades. The 4,000 sq/ft (1,220 sq/m) aircraft features three floors, armoured windows, medical offices and a kitchen that can feed 100 people at a time.

It can do mid-air re-fueling if they want it to. The White House nixed that feature in the next gen AFO to save money. It was a really stupid call because the plane is suppose to serve as a SHILD like air fortress incase the shit hits the fan.

Top unserved (non-direct) international destinations from Austin:

Tokyo
Seoul
Paris
Shanghai
Beijing
Dublin

#3 is getting at least one direct flight next year and hopefully AF/Delta jump on it as well.

Hopefully we pick up #1 or #2 for 2021 as well.
