Netherlands: Amsterdam, Gouda, Middelburg and more

I recently went on a "bike and barge" trip from Amsterdam to Bruges, biking during the day and sleeping on a boat. If you're interested, here's a video I made of the bike ride:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rD8ZKkmLWbs

Otherwise, onward to the pics. This thread is just the Dutch portion of the trip. I'll post my Belgium pictures in a separate thread later.

Amsterdam

Gouda
Pronounced "how-da," and best know for its namesake cheese, which has been traded here for centuries.

Dordrecht
One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, and an important port in the Middle Ages.

Zierikzee
Small town in Zeeland, known for the mussels harvested in the region.

Dutch countryside
Some small towns and scenic views along the ride

Veere
Another small town in Zeeland, whose name means "ferry." Named after a ferry house in the thirteenth century.

Middelburg
Capital and largest city of Zeeland

Great set, gives a good impressions of these places. Have been to all of them. Looks like a great way to see the country by bike.

Mmmm... Gouda.

It’s a good thing Holland has a cool climate. Think how many mosquitos there would be if it were in, say, the Southeast US.

Such a dreamy place. All those cars parallel parking alongside the canals with no curbs or bollards give me anxiety though.

Dutch cities look nice as always! Sounds relaxing with both bike and boat.
