hmm, we have our own cambridge,though, too (university city). philly has a university city, though . maybe we are the philly of the midwest .

Sorry, it's way too long. It's a 5-page feature comparing and contrasting St. Louis and Kansas City. So interesting to see how the personalities of the two cities have remained consistent with that article from 1954!

So, STL is clearly the NYC of Missouri's East Coast. I suppose that means Hannibal = Boston, Ste. Genevieve = Charleston, SC and Cape Girardeau = Miami. Right?

or New Orleans for Cape, if you want to stretch to include the gulf. Don't think we have a Miami...

Kansas City is the entire west coast, and Springfield is the interior SW and Texas...Springfield is practically a Texas city, anyway! Still some truth that Missouri reaches in a few different directions.
