Montross is a town on the Northern Neck in Virginia. It is the seat of Westmoreland County. The population is around 300.
While still just a courthouse town today, after over 300 years, the surrounding countryside is notable for being the birthplace of President George Washington; President James Monroe; Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee, signers of the Declaration of Independence; and Civil War General Robert E. Lee.
