Loring Park, Minneapolis

Loring Park is downtown neighborhoods on the SW side of Downtown. I had only passed through the haphazard stretch of Nicollet (punctuated with ugly parking lots) and today was the first time exploring this stately and dense neighborhood. Aside from the one stripmall I don't have much to complain about. The park itself is quite nice too I must say.

A friend of mine spent some time living just north of the freeway between Loring Park the the convention centre. It was in one of the really old 3-4 story brick apartment buildings.

Handsome neighborhood. That may be the most colorful parking garage I have seen.

Too bad you didn't walk up through the Loring Greenway. Got the 19 Bar though Also getting a picture of the Walker Art Center and Sculpture Garden would have been cool. I'm not complaining.

Nice photos of a great neighborhood. Though I didn't have a name for it at the time, I walked and photographed this neighborhood the first time I visited Minneapolis. This area is where I noted how much high rise residential Minneapolis has. Thanks for sharing!

Nice.

Parkade, well, not quite sure what to think about that.

My nephew lives right behind the Lotus there in the SA picture and his sister lives about a block north...both going to school at MCTC.
