Ah.... Was wondering when this project would be posted. From what I heard, the biggest development in SA. Billed as a "Pearl like development" pretty cool!!

Cool project for the burbs, but what makes the Pearl special besides being by the river and close to downtown is no chains. This project has chains written all over it.

From what I heard, University Village (already being called The UV) will focus on independent businesses with a possible exception of In & out burger, because the developer is a CA guy & really likes it! Again, just what I've heard, so we shall see!

Houston developer lays out plans for massive new industrial park

Not a sexy project but I found this interesting...

Quote:
“We are big believers in San Antonio’s growth story and feel that it is more relevant to the supply chain today than it has ever been,” commented Laura Denkler, Hines director. “The location at Cornerstone is ideal for users who need to efficiently serve the greater San Antonio area, in addition to Austin, Houston, and population centers in between. The direct access to both 410 and I-10, the proximity to population and affordable labor, and the customer focus and attention to building quality that Hines has built its reputation on, will lead to a very successful project.”...

“Record population growth across Central Texas, paired with the logistical advantages of being able to reach all of the major Texas metros and the Mexican border in under four hours, point toward San Antonio emerging as an industrial hot spot,” said Roger C. Hill III, senior vice president at JLL. “Corner Ridge Crossing will be perfectly positioned to capitalize on these dynamics. The variety of building sizes, as well as configurations, will allow Corner Ridge Crossing to fulfill the real estate needs for a wide range of businesses. We are excited to have the opportunity to market the project and to team with such a highly regarded company such as Hines.”

Certainly not sexy, but I guess warehouses are necessary.

US Federal Properties Co., a Kansas City, Missouri-based developer, plans to break ground in mid-July on a new multistory Veterans Affairs outpatient campus near SeaWorld San Antonio.

The three-story San Antonio Northwest Health Care Center will cost approximately $68 million to develop and span nearly 237,000 square feet. It will be built near U.S. Highway 151 and Rogers Road and feature a contemporary architectural design intended to provide what project leaders characterize as a “healing embrace.”

Picture in the link. Westover Hills only has a few properties left undeveloped which might yield taller buildings as the area matures. The only decently tall building is the Frost building.

Guess this is as good a place as any

Cibolo and Guadalupe County have approved incentives for Toyota supplier AW Texas, a U.S. subsidiary of Aisin AW Co. to build a new 400 million dollar plant that will add 900 jobs.

https://therivardreport.com/cibolo-a...obs-to-region/

This is what we were expecting when SA gave ETJ to Cibolo a few years back. It's right next to San Antonio Raceway on I-10 and Santa Clara Rd.

There is ALOT of excavation going on at The UV! Gonna be a cool development I think, the apartments are looking nice so far, the plan sounds really cool. They didnt leave many trees in the area they are working now though, so hopefully they have a plan for that.

Long shot here, but is there any thread that might have all suburban/urban mid-rise office towers with detailed photos?? I have recently been obsessed with SA's 1980s towers outside of the CBD.

Example: Pyramid, Spectrum, Forum etc.

Embrey Partners Ltd. has begun work on a mixed-use project near Alamo Heights that will include a new headquarters for the San Antonio-based company. While the project, called 7600 Broadway, is expected to have a catalytic impact, driving investment further north along the corridor, the company’s CEO, Trey Embrey, said it almost didn’t happen.

The development will include more than 200 high-end residential units and 53,000 square feet of office space. It’s slated for a 4-acre triangular tract — bordered by Broadway Street, Nacogdoches Road and West Nottingham Drive — that was previously home to an aging condominium community and a retail building.

Methodist Healthcare of San Antonio is finalizing plans to develop a full-service hospital and multi-story 100,000-square-foot medical office building, that will contain an ambulatory surgery center. The facility, tentatively dubbed Methodist Hospital Westover Hills, will be developed on San Antonio’s far west side, on 70 acres the system acquired in 2006. Methodist Healthcare CEO Allen Harrison told the San Antonio Business Journal that the hospital size and design are still being worked through.
