It's where the old Tinseltown used to be on the east side of I35 just north of Stassney.

Oh, ok. I hadn't noticed it. We rarely take I-35 unless we're going way out north.

My guess is he doesn't speak English and is using Google Translate or something like that. Often times these sorts of translations come from directly translating a language with a radically different structure into English - I see this all the time in China on signs and even in official papers... But I could be wrong.

Bestie1001, welcome to the forum one way or another! Are you in Austin?

Brandywine's ~13 acre Garza Tract development on South Mopac was discussed in this thread back in March. But the site plan was approved since then. There are 75 pages of drawings, so the elevations are buried in their somewhere if anyone wants to hunt for them. The project consists of a hotel, three office buildings and two parking garages.

I'm not particularly excited about this development. I view it as small bore and urban-lite in a mostly suburban setting. In other words, it is the 2010s update to a 1980s office park. Hopefully this isn't a prelude to a Broadmoor bringdown by Brandywine.

Yeah, it's a whole lotta meh. 5-story hotel - 69 feet to the mechanical parapet. The office building is 4 floors with 56 feet to the main roof slab and maybe another dozen or so feet to the mechanical parapet. The parking garage is 6 levels and 60 feet.

Interesting. That land on Dittmar has been waiting for development for quite some time, I believe.

Dug up some background on the Guesthouse Hotel -- the developer is out of Chicago and the concept is "detached cabanas with pool."

That Guest House Hotel proposal has been around for a while. They have been having trouble getting approval. So it's good to see it moving forward. That area needs some improvements. Here's a rendering from over two years ago that has been posted before. This may not be the current version.

You're posting from the Philippines, and your signature links to a Dallas company. How did you become interested in Austin?

I would also add that Tx is a very big state. Each region has unique characteristics. Austin is quite different than the rest of the state. Austin is the capital of Texas but Austin is Austin.

The site plan has been submitted for the South Austin Medical Center parking garage expansion.
