1050 Brickworks I think may be under construction. There is a large temporary truck type crane I can see from Midtown in the general vicinity of where that building is located. Not sure if there is anything else in that area that would need such a crane.

It is under construction. They broke ground in November.

I wish that project in Marietta Blvd was more residences. Love the density coming to the area.

I just had a thought: will this Publix cannibalize the Atlantic Station store? I hope not.

Not very likely. There's been tremendous growth in West Midtown over the past 8-10 years with no new grocery. The nearest Kroger is up on Howell Mill and 75. The Walmart there just closed. So the grocery options are limited in this area. Publix has good coverage over intown.

Certainly not. It's time to think of these neighborhoods in a more urban sense. A high percentage of people walk to these stores and even a mile or two is enough to put it in a different market.

Midtown area alone has three Publix, two Whole Foods, a Trader Joe's, and a Kroger which are all technically within walking distance of each other, plus several smaller stores like Savi and L&M.

yes, amazing video of West Midtown!

I've been in Atlanta since the mid 1970's, and the rapid development of West Midtown has caught me off guard. It's really the one area of rapid development across the metro that I'm not really familar with. I need to spend some more time over there.

A pedestrian bridge over Northside right there would be amazing.

The skyline viewed from West Midtown is impressive. It's filled in quite nicely over the last decade. 1072 West Peachtree and Spring Quarter will look particularly dominant from that viewpoint.

Lovely; it reminds me of Washington DC's Union Station or Dupont Circle area.
