Went to the Lone Star Brewery in March and got a tour of the grounds. If I remember correctly, the guide was telling me that they need something like 80% signed leases before they begin building Phase I, and he made it seem like they were nowhere near that number. Obviously, there's a lot of work to be done, but it should be interesting to see how the opening of the first Mission Reach segment brings awareness to this project as well as the Mission Power Plant one (any news on that one? Are they short of funds or leases too?)

^This is the building that makes up Phase I, where condos would surround an atrium. There's a rendering and many others at the website here: [URL="http://www.thelonestarbrewery.com/gallery"[/URL]

Can anyone tell me what South Flores Street's plan is? I know it's a place that attracted many artists and the name is coined after SoHo, but is it planning on going anywhere?

All I know is that Cevallos Street is probably going to start construction if it hasn't already. I'm just wondering what the entire SoFlo district is planning.

Cevallos St. has started clearing and demo'ing the existing structures on the lot. Part of the stipulation of the $$ they received is that they have to use it soon, very soon.
SoFlo's neighborhood plan is anyones guess since it's made up of multiple private developments.
The next move on the street is Steel House lofts, as they recently pulled permits for the addition of extra floors and finishing out condos.
I believe the Mission Road Power Plant was never "set" to start anything; I think the plans were part of a feasibilty study see the potential for the buildings. Currently, as captured in one of the above photos, they are tearing it down to its shell. I'd actually expect something first from Big Tex before the Power Plant and Lone Star. It'll be at least 3-5 years before Roosevelt Park Neighborhood gets some of the momentum that Lavaca has had in the last few years. The new segment of the river will help as will an increased population in the Southtown area, which will come with Hemisview, St. B's, and Cevallos Lofts.

You're right.... because large sports arenas with massive parking lots next to single family homes is something that downtown San Antonio is lacking.

Maybe it'll be an area that'll just grow into something...hopefully that something is great.

I believe the Lone Star development recently declared bankruptcy. Don't expect anything from them any time soon.

Bank Of America Plaza Building

Hi guys. Does anyone know what is being constructed at the Martin & St. Mary's corner of the Bank Of America Plaza Building? The work seems to be going at a good pace.

They are doing a bit of remodeling in the building for new conference space and some finish out for some new tenants; other than that I think that the garage (if that is what you are refering to,) was supposed to be enclosed into a "mechanical yard" at street level on the side facing the bus station.

Also, considering the fact that the rent for a 1 BR at HemisView is more than 95% of the average 1 BR's in SA, I would say that it isn't. If you want to see projects, look for institutional-type buildings near Alazan Creek.
Are they putting a fence around that complex? While they are new, they do look like government homes in a sense with its color and layout, but they are nice in a way. Its a 50/50 feeling.

Anybody have any info or details regarding this downtown soccer stadium next to the Alamodome?
link: http://www.kellmunoz.com/project.php?project=266

It's probably old, but anyone ever see any renderings for it?

That proposal would seem to conflict with the one to convert Alamo Stadium into a pro soccer facility, so maybe its older.

Yeah, thats what I thought. I wasn't here around that time. I just thought it would be fun to see that rendering or plan and add it to the "what-ifs" of SA.

So you love the location of the arena, out in the east side. A place that people go watch the Spurs and then go home. Unlike when the Spurs were downtown, you go eat dinner on the riverwalk, walk to the game, and then afterward go to downtown club or bar and make a great night of it all. I would be against large surface parking lots. People could use garages, that's what they did back at the old Hemisfair Arena.
