Not bad. And, yes. It's good infill.

The architecture is consistent with their (Citizen M) model.

Also, this is a very small site. The building is not going to be as boxy as it seems in the first rendering.

well I think it's ugly

but it's also 200'

that means it's at a scale which can be renovated. if the hotel fails or is deemed ugly in a decade or two it will be able to be transformed. this is problem i have with some of these bigger buildings. if they're ugly they're ugly until they're torn down.

i don't think the street interaction is great but it's there and i like the common area on second floor. i really think the (sky lounge/sky lobby/x floor common area) is a trend that is going to be here for a while.

build it.

Never as far as I know. It looks like the height in the thread title was changed to the roof height in the DC presentation when it should still be the original height with mechanical listed in the elevations. Also, sixteen is the highest occupied level - 17 is mechanical.

The height I had listed for it was 204 feet to the mechanical parapet with 16 occupied floors. That came from the site plan that was posted to the AULCC page on June 8. The elevations start on page 21.

*EDIT:* - I think the 192 foot height is the height below the mechanical roof and mechanical parapet, and is probably the roof level you'd be standing on as you walk through the doorway into the mechanical penthouse. The design in the renderings that were posted recently don't seem to be any different from the one shown in the elevations. As usual, Austin typically does not count mechanical roofs in building heights as they are exempt from height variances.

I'm having a really difficult time trying to envision where this building is going, especially given the render above with it having 11 windows across.

Is this going to directly abut One American Center? Is it going to wrap around it? I assume the 601 Colorado Ave building isn't going anywhere and also think this building is talking than the parking base on One American.. so is it going to be directly blocking windows? Is there going to be the smallest margin of space in-between?

On another note, I saw construction happening inside of the old Athenian greek restaurant that was in One American earlier this morning. Last year there was a rumor of a Chic-fil-a opening in that spot I believe.. so fingers crossed that's back in action.

it's going to be on the southeast corner of 7th and colorado. it's currently a paid parking lot directly across from perry's steakhouse.

Right, I get that -- I'm saying that given it's on the same lot as One American Center it's gonna have to be on a much smaller footprint than the rendering suggests. OAC takes up 2/3 of the lot both ways. Seems like the building can only be 60 feet deep and 90-100 feet wide at most.

Yeah, I think the rendering has some perspective weirdness going on. 1 American is not that skinny, and this building is not that thicc.

1 American is also twice the height of this building (more or less) and only looks 50% taller here.

This is a *very* small lot, especially given the 1 American parking garage access takes up part of where this render appears to be.

Since Citizen M uses offsite modular construction, I could see them easily opening in 2022 and ahead of the Hyatt on Congress.

It will be pretty cool seeing cranes lifting entire room modules like legos...
