This project should probably be split into two threads now. I'll do it when I have more time.

EDIT: The Travis #2 posts were moved to the 80 Red River Thread.

Site prep?!

A couple of excavators started working the site late last week:

The activity is definitely on the Phase I (Travis) half of the site. The Phase II (M2 project) half is still being used for parking/staging for the Quincy or Van Zandt redo projects.

Nice view. That would be site prep. Still not sure if it's an official groundbreaking.

Looks like they are getting ready to relocate a tree.

I think I'll wait and see what happens after they roll the tree away before I change the status to site prep.

Yesterday, from Steve R. on Twitter. The tree is getting ready for it's Big Adventure. Let's hope some digging starts after the tree gets on its way. Some nice Urban Campsites along the fence.

Looking back at some of our most recent renderings, it's amazing how much of that undergrowth along the creek is supposed to be cut away. I mean, it's obviously pretty wild down there, but the landscaping change is, IMO, pretty radical.

Still like that ped bridge, though.

So is the developer putting in the retaining wall and pedestrian bridge there, or the city?

From Steve R. on Twitter. This definitely looks more like site prep than just a tree move.

Towers had a new image I hadn’t seen — of both Travises together at once.

I’ll give someone 5$ if they can ‘shop the super tall in here, too.

EDIT: and River Street Residences, and 54 East, and 90 Rainey. And the blue line rail bridge that hasn’t been decided on yet.

There is only one Travis. The other project is being called 80 Red River for the lack of a better name. That rendering is in the thread for 80 Red River.

And hilariously. . . I was the guy who originally posted this pic in those threads.

Time to start taking my fish oil memory pills again.

That's some half-ass site prep right there. I guess the rain held up the tree move.
