Taylor doesn't have much to offer IMO - except for convenience if your employment is connected to Samsung.

There are a few hidden gems, but in general, I agree. They're looking to invest in their downtown area a bit with all of the anticipated growth. Their downtown has some decent bones for a smaller town, so we'll see what they come up with.

It will grow. The more people, the more retail and entertainment will move in. For you guys...think of Bee Cave. In 1995 is was a small blinker village of about 280 people (no amenities). It's now home to 10,000 and growing - and a good amount of amenities with more u/c.

My wife’s best friend from Taylor High School (Class of 1963) has two pieces of farmland totaling 200 acres just east of the Samsung site.
She does not anticipate selling it at cotton patch prices.

Too bad my wife’s family sold their 100 acres fronting on what is now Chandler Road west of Circleville for $400/acre in 1967.

That's definitely true, and the future impact should be significant. But 2,200 GigaTexas employees will lose their jobs - if the 10% cut affects Austin as it does Tesla worldwide.

Tesla is taking a hit just like several other tech companies have this past year and a half. That's why Meta, Google and other are trying to sublease space DT. Dell cut 10% of their global workforce last year.

Job cuts are not usually that simple/cut-and-dry. Austin will probably have less than or more than 10% cuts. We just don't know yet.

Tesla has unique problems that can't be dismissed by tech sector layoffs. Things are going to get worse before they get better. Hopefully leadership changes will lead them to get their focus back to a 25k electric car.
