Litter

So my neighbor hood still looks clean this morning! There are a couple of peices of paper here and there but it is a drastic improvement overall. I may do a follow up this weekend just to get the remaining scraps.

Any challengers yet?

Glad to see someone else who shares my disdain for litter so passionately! Yeah, I'll have to do a follow up next weekend.

lol, I have a pair of dogs, so usually I pick up a bunch of litter every time I take them out twice daily. Thank goodness in my neighbourhood, the number of conscientious people outnumber those who are careless and so there seems to be always a low level of trash. There are more people in my neighbourhood cleaning up litter, then creating litter.

Last week, I saw a guy toss a can, and I loudly requested from a block away to pick it up. Him and his friends cajoled him for littering, and he picked it up and put it in the nearest waste receptacle. I thanked him, and he carried on with his friends on his way.

Not only is picking up litter useful for making a neighbourhood clean, but it lets people know that there are active eyes on the street. e.g. likely to report suspicious behaviour

That would be a good way to get people involved. They could call it "Pick up at least one peice of litter day."

so we are officially the only people who care about the looks of our city streets, parks and sidewalks? That is a shame......

It is quite the assumption to say noone cares about litter, simply because they didn't to a post you made, that didn't really need a reply in the first place. You need to stop being so judgemental.
