The photo above, taken by Will Femia, shows recent progress on the site, with the formwork progressing vertically up the podium. 90 residential units will start 150 feet above the street, to allow residents optimal views of the Hudson River and the rest of the Financial District.

Units will range from one- to four-bedroom spreads with prices to be announced. A pleated pattern of glass will cover the facade, contrasting the neighboring brick and stone buildings that have traditionally made up the identity of Financial District since its inception as New Amsterdam. However, like many of its neighbors, 77 Greenwich will have a slender profile, running north to south due to the rectangular shape of the property and required setbacks on the east and west sides.

On the top of the tower, there will be a residential lounge with a catering kitchen, a children’s playroom and a double-height fitness center. Sitting on the other side of the glass are two outdoor rooftop terraces looking east towards Wall Street and west towards Jersey City and the Hudson River. They also will come with outdoor barbecue grills. Another terrace is found on the top of the podium’s ninth floor that comes with a dog run, dining areas, and pergolas.

The preservation and restoration of the Robert & Anne Dickey House is also underway. It is a historic landmark built 208 years ago, and will be incorporated into the new elementary school . It currently stands as a hollow shell held up by large steel beams and girders.

Sales of 77 Greenwich Street are expected to launch next Spring, with completion anticipated for 2020.

Lower right, 77 Greenwich (right near the trinity place sign). Also, around mid center in the background, 125 Greenwich.

First Curtain Wall Panels Spotted As 77 Greenwich Street Passes Halfway Point In The Financial District

Quote:
The first exterior curtain wall panels have been spotted on the western elevation of 77 Greenwich Street. The upcoming 42-story, mixed-use residential skyscraper is located in the Financial District and is being designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Trinity Place Holdings, with interior design by Deborah Berke Partners.

Recent photos show the panels going up on the lower floors along Greenwich Street, next to the Robert and Anne Dickey House.

These light-colored facade pieces will only be installed on the building’s 150-foot-tall podium, which will house a grade school and ground-floor retail space. The 350-foot-tall residential section above it will have a reflective glass curtain wall all the way to the 500-foot-high flat roof parapet.

Sales of the 90 condo units are expected to launch sometime soon. Prices have yet to be announced for the inventory of one- to four-bedroom units.

Upper floors will offer views of the Hudson River, Governors Island, the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, the World Trade Center, and the rest of the Lower Manhattan skyline. Amenities will include a residential lounge with a catering kitchen, a children’s playroom, a double-height fitness center, and an outdoor terrace on the top of the ninth floor that will feature a dog run, dining areas, and pergolas.

Meanwhile, the reinforced concrete structure is making progress quickly. At the current pace of construction, work could top off before the end of the year. The jagged outline of each floor plate is becoming more visible on both the eastern and western elevations. This design will allow future residents to easily look north and south when standing at the floor-to-ceiling windows.

77 Greenwich Street is expected to be finished next year.

This is turning out quite nice, hopefully the glass will match up a bit more to the renderings after everything is unwrapped and cleaned.

77 Greenwich Street’s Curtain Wall Nears Completion In The Financial District

Quote:
Exterior work is nearing completion on 77 Greenwich Street, a 42-story mixed-use residential skyscraper in the Financial District. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Trinity Place Holdings, the 500-foot-tall project will yield 90 condominiums ranging from one- to four-bedroom layouts with interiors designed by Deborah Berke Partners.

Photos show the final portions of the reflective curtain wall on the western elevation being filled in, while the podium sits almost completely finished.

Amenities for 77 Greenwich Street include a private residential lounge with a catering kitchen, a children’s playroom, a double-height fitness center, and a landscaped outdoor terrace on the ninth floor with a dog run, dining areas, and pergolas.

The forthcoming opening of the West Street pedestrian bridge will make it easier for residents to access the Hudson River waterfront and Battery Park City.
