^ Yeah, it looks almost exactly the same, as opposed to what they had in the rendering. But a lot has changed since that rendering, mainly the addition of the observation elevators.

Another look at the ledges...

The heights here aren't actual heights used to measure skyscraper heights...

Transit connections (subway, Metro North, LIRR)...

Of course, the marketing floors and the actual floors will differ (top office floor of 56 will be "73"). I'm surprised they didn't go a little higher in terms of marketing...a look at the sublevels and the top...

Wow, this might end up being the best of the observation decks. Sounds pretty exciting.

It does sound exciting. It's a little more than a year off to opening. But I haven't even been to the new ESB and 30 Hudson decks yet. Still, a year seems a long way off, but it will likely open before the planned deck at the Chrysler Building.

I'll just have to make do with photographs workers have taken from up there...

Either way, good GOD I'm so afraid of heights that I would never be able to get in one of those, even though they are perfectly safe, structurally.

I'm surprised we haven't seen a virtual video of it yet. They've been very quiet about this observation deck.

I don't think it was originally planned. But with the added competition of the Edge at 30 Hudson, the revitalized ESB deck, and the threat of Tower Fifth with its higher attractions,
it made sense to add a little more here. It seems that observation decks have become more popular around the world.

But even this rendering didn't have the observation elevators...

From that last video...

One reason we may be getting the observation elevators here, over at 30 Hudson, the latest filings show an "aerial adventure course" on the roof.

This was mentioned earlier in New York magazine...

So, you'll be able to either strap on and climb this at 30 Hudson, or take the elevator ride at Vanderbilt (less work)...

Looks like ribbon day will be in September...

From street level, the pods aren't really that visible, which gives you an idea of scale...
