just walked by this today. The area surrounding BAM and up to Fulton is going to be unrecognizable in 2-3 years. This tower fits right in, but the centerpiece is the big high rise closer to BAM..can't remember the name.

this citypoint development is well thought out and sure beats what was there previously (albee sq mall, decrepit parking garage, etc). its rather lacking in the architectural dept, but it is inoffensively slick. the apt interiors look swell and i guess that is more important. however its all just staging for the money shot -- city point phase three tower. bring it on.

Nearly 90,000 applications for affordable apartments at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn

Quote:
Brooklyn Daily Eagle
If you wonder about how intense the demand for affordable housing really is in Brooklyn, consider this: There were 87,754 applications for the 200 affordable apartments at 7 DeKalb Ave.

That sky-high number comes courtesy of Aron Gooblar, vice president of Washington Square Partners, one of the firms that owns the newly constructed apartment tower at City Point, a mixed-use mega-development in Downtown Brooklyn.

Second Phase of Brooklyn's City Point Development Forms New Building Cluster

Quote:
The second phase of the mixed-use City Point development at the site of the former Albee Square Mall in Brooklyn is substantially complete. Washington Square Partners delivered a 50,000-square-foot retail building in February 2012 and work on the development's highrise component — two residential towers holding 30 and 19 levels — commenced in November 2012.
