looks like they're putting in a walk- or roadway at the western end of Arden, linking Channel with Long Bridge

another look at the newly-opened dog run

the affordable one on Third at Mission Rock

the Uber skybridges are getting their outsides

looking west up Nelson Rising Wy, with the Weill Neurosciences building on the left

they've begun re-paving the west side of Third St around the Muni platform project area

the Vision Neurosciences building is getting its brown skin

in context

utility poles are also down on the Illinois side (left in pic) of parcel P24

on Terry Francois work on the roadbed has shifted to the east side

... because the bed itself has been poured on the west side

this weekend, for the first time in a decade I think, I was able to walk through from 16th St to Terry Francois.

this is looking north at the new alignment of Terry Francois hugged up against the arena. the bayfront park will be on the right

looking back west down 16th

from closer to Third

looking north down Third from corner of 16th

Third St from above

some of the glass canopy on the Muni platform looks new

looking north down Third from above

the arena from UCSF Koret Quad

Rutter views, for old times' sake

they're building what I assume is a parking garage behind the Celgene building on Owens. maybe this is in anticipation of the office building next door finally breaking ground soon?

east down 16th

Terry Francois (TF) and Illinois St

the roadbed was complete on the east side of TF

it was jarring to see the trees just south of the Vision Neurosciences building, on the east side of Third St, not there. the notices announcing their removal had been put up years ago

a bit more brown skin...

peeking into 16th St from Third

they were paving the east side of Third around the new Muni platform

nice smooth west side already in use

from above

Work will finally be beginning on UCSF's Third Street Garage facade project this week.

Good call. Alexandria is indeed looking to move forward on 1450 Owens, the last commercial parcel in Mission Bay.

Not sure if this is the current proposal, but I found these:

taller than what I thought I remembered was going up there!

various from this weekend...

the hotel is coming up sloooowly

the passageway just went of Arden looks like it'll be for walkers

the Weill neurosciences building getting its facade, though I think more goes on top of that to make it a bit more interesting (hope hope)

Third St coming together in front of the arena

signage on the Muni platform was working

a peek into what it will feel like to walk past the arena, with some greenery starting to go in

the 'origami' surface treatment on the UCSF parking garage is going on

NE corner of the arena

Terry Francois' (TF) new alignment is OPEN! looking south

more arena

two-way, buffered bike lane on the east side of TF

looking into 16th from TF

arena

near where TF meets Illinois

LOTS of activity in the area as people try to get everything ready for the arena opening

looks like Illinois will slim down significantly in its final northern block

it's nice to see TF become so civilized-looking

this is near where the ferries will land

Third

pouring roadbed on Mariposa east of Third

UCSF psychiatry building in Dogpatch

Third St at 19th, looking north

progress on the T-Third turnaround!

at Crane Cove Park, also progress, but that looks like... a parking lot

does anyone have any strong objections to my putting Dogpatch pics in this thread? I go back and forth about it, but since my standard neighborhood walk usually takes in both MB and Dogpatch in one loop, it is easier for me to lump them together.

this is 950 Tennessee

the one on Third at 20th

looking into Dogpatch from MB

777 Tennessee still looking quite orange

I didn't realize a new brewery was in the works

being kitty-corner from the ballpark and I think fronting on the creekside park should give this extra help to be successful, I would think

from last weekend...

shroud starting to come off the BMR one on Third

the Uber-Borg

the sidewalk in front of the arena on Third St was open for the first time in a long time - in fact, you could walk around the entire perimeter this weekend.

16th St side

Terry Francois (east) side

from the north side

back to Third St

Fourth St and the Weill building

working on the corner, south side of 16th and Third in front of the Vision Neurosciences building. think UCSF is trying to get that arena-facing side of their building as far along as possible before their neighbor opens

Third St sidewalk getting reconstructed too

rail for the T-Third Loop goes almost all the way around the block now...

just a small gap on 19th

just outside of MB proper, the Center Hardware building has finally been razed

Third St clearing and cleaning up

looks at/from the new Muni platform

the addition to the hospital looks just about done

pavers and cobbles going in around the SE corner of the arena

crane going up at block 6W

paving 16th St between Terry Francois and Illinois

looking west

back the other way

on Saturday, 16th from Illinois to Third was still bare roadbed

the UCSF parking garage decorations are almost done on the Third St side

working on Third at the corner with 16th

flurry of activity to get everything ready

they've also been working on the intersection of Mariposa/TF and Illinois, which will have a new traffic signal, apparently

T-Third Loop coming along

UCSF Psychiatry Center definitely peeking over the fence now (2177 Third still shrouded in background)

a few months ago, Townsend St from 7th St eastwards got a walking and biking lane on its south side, which, for such a simple thing, went a long way to help sort out that traffic and make it more pleasant to move along that stretch...

as one gets closer to the Caltrain station, it is clear it's a work in progress...

and now the final phase is getting underway

16th now paved to Third

much quieter in the area this week!

Terry Francois

where TF meets Illinois

(Illinois, which, unlike most of the streets around it now, is still kinda torn up)

Mariposa is a little strange: they left an unpaved patch in it (not really visible in the pic), so maybe there was something they still have to do there, but there was obviously no activity there yesterday. (oh, and Copy World has moved out of the building on the right)

moving into Dogpatch, the little projects at Tennessee and Mariposa

the T-Third Loop on 18th St

UCSF Psychiatry

777 Tennessee seems stuck in red-orange mode

Third and 20th

the new mid-block passage part of 950 Tennessee

I guess it got lost in the shuffle - I'd linked to that in post 2291 above

the affordable one on block 3

Third, in front of the arena

UCSF garage origami almost done

south side of arena

T-Third Loop continuous and pavement filled in

adjacent sidewalks also getting work

this used to be mostly dirt

same here, along 19th St

one of the best things about the arena opening has been the opening of parcels P23 and P24 to its south, finally. here is P24 at the intersection of Terry Francois (TF) and Illinois

hard to describe the feeling of being able to walk where you couldn't before. here along the west side of TF

you can also take a more sinuous path inside the parcel

the connection to the terraces on the east side of the buildings where Fibrogen is, is also open

looking back south

Mission Rock Resort sports a new neon sign no doubt intended to be visible from the arena

continuing the walk north up TF to P23

looking back south

from the lower terrace of the arena

looking south from TF and Warriors Wy

the hospital addition

Third St looking north from 16th-ish

Channel St, looking toward where Mission Rock should start to rise in a few months

including the fringe around MB (in Showplace Square to start)...

1 De Haro, seen from the east

its SE corner showing relationship to existing building and pathway

the SW corner

the CCA housing (with 1 De Haro peeking out in the background)

Mason on Mariposa in Potrero Flats

looking back north on Carolina, 5 construction sites line up: Mason on Mariposa, Alta Potrero, CCA housing, 1 De Haro, and 706 Mission in the distance

the 'back' of Mason on Mariposa

UCSF housing in Dogpatch, getting sidewalks on the Indiana side

UCSF Psychiatry center

another view of the T-Third Loop rails and associated sidewalk, with a glimpse at Crane Cove Park work across the way

CC Park mostly still looks like big piles of dirt being moved around...

...but at the south end next to Pier 70 we have this

another look at the Loop rails on Illinois

some of the fencing has started to come down around the hospital addition

Third in front of the arena
