Me too. I do wish they renovated that old triangle building, but at least it's loss makes this view of CCH possible. Odgen is looking pretty fresh all the way out to Douglas Park these days...

Thanks for that pic, LVDW

I once viewed the Cook County Hospital as Chicago's 21st century version of the Chicago Stock Exchange preservation battle.

Luckily we won this one, and a priceless building will be around for many more generations

The Realtor Building is taking the term "crown" quite literally...

yes, grand plaza is ugly, but it at least has active urban uses at street level.

for a true all-around shit-burger, it's hard to top crap like ASS-bury plaza:https://www.google.com/maps/@41.8964...7i16384!8i8192

terrible on every metric; zero redeeming qualities.

Yeah, but Asbury Plaza is redeemed by having that glorified bike rack of a public art display in front of its main entrance...

Seriously, Asbury Plaza has some hope of just barely being tolerable if they would demolish that garage on the north end of the site and sell it off to a developer.

This building isn't real because I refuse to acknowledge its existence anymore. That is the reality I choose to live in lol

(you're right though)
