I’m not an engineer, but my understanding is that the auger cast piles were drilled into the ground to support the building and to keep the to-be-built slab from being pushed down by the weight of the building. On top of that was an initial thin concrete pour, waterproofing material, then they installed the grid of rebar for the massive 6 foot thick slab. There are some plumbing and drainage pipes built into the rebar. Then, last night they had the concrete pour to fill up that huge grid of rebar. There are some voids for the elevator pit, electric vault, etc that are below slab level.
So to answer the question, those early pillars are still there, like 100+ legs supporting the slab.
