I'm sure Joey founded a town on the Burin Peninsula to build this tunnel.

In La Coruna in Spain there are roads that go underground under the historic area and pops up on the other side .. however the bedrock here would make that a bit crazy

Yes, the image is showing up here!

Looks absolutely fantastic!! (in my opinion) It goes to show that we have real potential for the future. Mark my words, someday in the future there will be a proposal to add more floors to Atlantic Place. That day may be sooner than you think..

Thanks for the render Architype! it looks great!!

It's better than an ugly brick wall

*************

Speaking of walls.. What is your opinion on the Scotia Center. Do you think it needs a reclad? when do you think it's due for a reclad?

I, for one, like the building from street level alot. The really dark blue (almost black) glass looks awesome from street level but the further you get away from it, the more unattractive it becomes. For example, in that render that architype posted, does it look attractive? I don't think so.

I don't think it needs a reclad, but I wouldn't be sad if one came up in the future

What about you guys?

Scotia Place is somewhat outdated but it's still one of our nicer older towers so I'd much prefer to deal with the old Fortis Building, Atlantic Place, etc. first.

But I wouldn't be sad to see Scotia Place redone. I believe East Port Properties (the developers of 351) owns Scotia Place, right?

EDIT: Yep!

I use to think cabot place I and II looked great until all these new buildings started hahaha I think it's all relative .. like if you stick Scotia Building in Downtown Moncton it would look awesome .. however with all these new buildings popping up the older modern ones are looking more dated ... I do not think there is a need for a reclad at all yet .. do southcott hall and fortis building/ atlantic place WAY before the scotia building

I think maybe in 15 years it will need one but not yet

I completely love it from street level! it looks better on sunny days than cloudy, but that's not a reason to spend millions on a reclad! I wouldn't be disappointed to see it re-cladded, but it doesn't need it right now. Maybe in 15 years or so xD

But I agree, the new modern buildings are making our old ones look much more dated than they did 3 years ago, haha. Atlantic Place is on the top of my list for re-clads with the old fortis building right behind it! Thankfully at least one reclad is scheduled

You mean: "thank god it was almost done and then the workers just gave up )

Seriously though, no progress for what, two months now? has anyone even seen them working on it recently??

I like Scotia Centre myself. The fact that it's all glass makes it stand out in a downtown where everything is otherwise brick. It stands out in contrast to all the heritage structures downtown, and even the residential neighbourhoods that overlook it and appear to rise away to the right of the building in skyline shots. It basically puts things into perspective in terms of modern vs. heritage structures.

Shame it's not a few stories higher so it could overpower Atlantic Place.

I agree. I really like the building, but the design would looks so much better if it was a few stories taller and not so "squat" looking

I like Scotia Centre too, I think it's aging well.

Then again, I also think Cabot I and II are very attractive buildings. Until Fortis Place is finished, our most attractive modern buildings downtown.
