We don't need this in every post either.

I find myself cautiously excited for this. I hope the facade matches the ground level rendering that we saw. Fingers crossed.
I'm feeling confident on the base being what we saw. How the design of the rest of the building takes shape we just have to wait and see. I'm expecting a great design. The crown should be something special.

I like how the tower's base is totally centered around transit. The subway/commuter rail connections are really the primary street-level usage, so this is fantastic.
I also look forward to seeing the designs for the new transit hall/Grand Central connection.

They gave a preview of some of that also...

All these new towers seem well integrated with Grand Central.
That's what I love about this area, all of the towers have connections to the terminal. The Empire Station district will incorporate the same thing, all of the new towers will have direct access to Penn Station. It's the way it should be around mass transit centers. The true Terminal City, and a cousin to the southwest.

I've always hated those crappy little lights. I'd like to see more elaborate chandeliers installed. It would evoke Versailles if those corridors were lined with chandeliers.
This is the area directly beneath the Park Avenue viaduct. Chandeliers would look nice here with higher ceilings. But there was talk of Landmarks wanting some differentiating between the new and old space, even though they are trying to blend it in. Grand Central proper has all of those things, so it's cool. What's important here is the opening up and doubling of the space. Also the opening up and reconfiguring of the subway entrance, as well as removing that elevator and restoring the entrance on 42nd. I'm excited about the added skylights too, and wish they could do the same thing with the Lexington passage, where they will be doubling the height of the ceiling.
Some idea of how the corridor is today...

I'm thinking the entire top section/crown will be internally lit. It might look something like the top of Goldman Sachs as the shape is similar, but with lighting.
A single, robust centrally located spire could look nice too. Something that mimics the massing of the tower.
