Tennis, you are quick. I'm the PM working on WWL and I literally just got back from the permit office and you already have it up on the board. Well done.

Sorry to steal your thunder...post any renderings you have if you can.

Renderings of 745-749 Baronne Street

I love stories like this:

City of New Orleans to accept a gift of replacement street name tiles from Spain

APRIL 11, 2013
NEW ORLEANS, LA – At a ceremony on Thursday, April 11, 2013, City officials will host a business delegation from the city of Talavera de la Reina in Spain, who will present four decorative street name ceramic tile plates to replace four time-worn ceramic tiles in Jackson Square. The replacement tiles are identical to the tiles that mark the name of French Quarter streets during Spanish rule of New Orleans, and were crafted at the same factory as the tiles donated to New Orleans by the City of Talavera de la Reina in 1959.

Are you guys gonna clean/repair the area around the louvers on the facade? Some of the flashing is pretty badly stained, and it looks like some of the spandrel panels behind the screen are blown out.

Unfortunately the work needing to be done to the facade is getting pushed to a later time. The focus for this phase of the work is to renovate the entire 2nd floor and half of the 1st floor to bring there offices up to date. There old office space was straight out of the 1960's. This renovation will really help give them very nice offices, conference rooms and new reception area. We are also doing some new roofs and some pretty large upgrades mechanically and electrically. Its a nice size project but it will be hard to notice what will be done unless you go inside.

Alright, cool. The street-level improvements will be much appreciated.

Was just driving down W. Esplanade in Kenner- just past williams headed towards the city there is a large undeveloped lot bearing a sign that says "Shopping Center in development"- name on sign is Khan Development LLC- can't find any info other than the owners live on Folse Dr. in Metairie.

google map of site:

http://goo.gl/maps/9vWpT

The sign doesn't have any anchors depicted, but looks to be a fairly large development. There are only a few vacant lots this size in Kenner.

West Esplanade

That's the site of the old Redwood Apartments that got destroyed after Katrina. Retail competition there would be tough. There's a Walmart Market and Office Depot within 2 blocks of there.

I believe they considered a new apartment or retirement complex there before.

Any recent developments on the St Claude line? Have they decided on the track placement?

Hey Tennis, I saw your project being reviewed on the televised portion of the CBDHDLC meeting. Very bureaucratic, but kinda exciting. The funniest part was when the chair made a motion to adjourn and another board member responded "that's my favorite motion"; very professional.

Back to business, what's the new condo building next to Spruce cleaners on Magazine (near state)? We're renovating a building down the street and this seems promising. It was a vacant lot and it appears this is going to be 4 or so stories and based on the frame it appears to be quite contemporary.
