WOAI finally going HD

They will go HD this week and will roll out a new set.

They previewed it tonight.

Check it out here.

It's a vast improvement over their current failure of a news set.

FYI, I really like the skyline background as it is current and a good angle.

Someone mentioned WOAI taking pictures from Vidorra, well, I think that is it.

Good. I don't know if I will start watching that station now, but in the times that I have skimmed through the channel, it did look like it needed some major improvements.

Similar topic; I've always wished that a station, especially KSAT (since they have valuable River North property,) would set up shop in Whitacre Tower or One Alamo. They could have the whole ticker thing with a couple of big screens in those gaps above street-level. Just wishing and thinking aloud.

That would be very cool.

I haven't watched local news since I got back from South Africa, but a news set within a high-rise might just have me tuning in.

GREAT idea.

You're envious of WFAA's Victory Park station in Dallas aren't you haha

P.S. Isn't WOAI the one with the River North station?

Both WOAI and KSAT have River North locations. KSAT is actually very very close to the new section of Riverwalk. You could throw a rock in the river from the back of their building.

Actually, I've never been to Dallas (except DFW,)
but having just been in NoVA, WJLA in Rosslyn was what I kinda leaning towards.

KSAT is actually very close to SAMA off of St. Mary's, across the street from Central Catholic.
