Haha, I think they look tacky. I wonder how much of them are actually being used, I would think with the technology today they don't need them anymore.

In a perfect world, I'd prefer to remove them.

You probably need to see them from a rooftop terrace to really appreciate them at night. Daytime ehhhh... I get what you mean...

If the buildings were as tall as the radio towers, everybody on this forum would be happy, well happier, at least.

Meh, I guess first, the car lots, then the towers. Let's Do This!

I remember looking out at them from the Tower restaurant as a kid and liking their height and pretty red lights. They're the closest thing SA has to Austin's Moon Towers, so what the hell.

I like their twinkling at night too, for they oddly give the gritty cool urban sense of São Paulo...

They would go well with the Tower of the Americas, the Alamodome, and the Drury spire. How do we draft lighting artist Bill FitzGibbons to enliven our own little downtown antennas?

Wow. That is really beautiful. Goes to show what a little thought and effort can accomplish. SA needs to do this!

Someone start a Gofundme. Let's slap some LEDs on those things. I'll chip in a buck or two.

I found this article from 2017 about the KSAT TV tower. It's 550 feet tall, built in the 50s. It doesn't function as a broadcast tower anymore, it has satellite dishes and other digital receivers to collect news stories etc. from elsewhere. Some small but nice photos.

There is a way to view the original large format photos. If you're viewing that link in Google Chrome, right click on each photo with your mouse, and select the "inspect" link at the bottom of that menu. That will open a box to the right that will show you the original full sized photos. There will be an image link in that window that you can right click on and open in another tab. That will give you the full sized image.

For example, and I'm putting these behind a spoiler tag because they really are big.

Nice, Raul. So I know they're at or near the all-balcony floor between the hotel and residences. Does anyone know exactly which floor they're at?

12th floor slab is done, column formwork installed on this floor. A portion of the 13th floor slab (riverwalk side) has also been poured.

The crane was raised this Saturday, and it probably will need to be raised one final time.

Thanks, Montirob. So is the 12th floor the in-between floor that looks like it has essentially a "whole-floor" balcony? It's hard to tell from the webcam because it never shows the whole building at once.

Here's a project for someone, should you choose to accept it. Please get a photo from this exact angle and location to compare with current progress. That would be great!

Opposite street corner.

By the way, that's an interesting place for an HVAC unit.

I think there are 8 or 9 left, but that's what I'm trying to figure out.
