It's no wonder this one is rocketing up... it was the only construction site active on my Sunday stroll downtown.

As ugly as that brown cladding is, it does a pretty good job of matching the Hyatt Place.

The perforated metal panels are looking a lot flatter to me than the renderings suggested. It might take just the right angle of sun to make the layers really stand out.

I agree. Although for the most part, these will be hidden from a distance. So long as they're noticeable from the ground level (which they appear to be), that will be the angle that most see them from.
