I am pleased to see that they are applying the same glazing to the penthouse. I was a little worried that they would have just cheap cladding on most of it.

There are 2 colours of glass. If you look closely at the 8th floor your will notice that they messed up the colours in a few places.

Similar mix-up on the east-side of the building.

They accidentally brought in a few wrong-coloured panels, . . . and installed them. They will be replaced at a later date.

Hell, the NCO Building is full of scattered 'blemishes'. It doesn't even look half-bad, . . provided that they are at least a semi-random distribution.

A rooftop patio is being installed on the 11th floor. Note the Capitol Jazz Club sign in the lower right

Exterior scaffolding staircase on Hamilton was coming down yesterday - looked to be making room to finish installing a number of glass panels.

Also noticed a fair amount of progress on enclosing the street-facing retail. I bet the Green Spot folks are looking forward to moving into this brand new retail space

FCC's printing press is moving to the new tower this week. It is has been on the main floor of the Conexus building since leaving the FCC podium to make way for construction over a year ago.

The move was expected this weekend, but I didn't see any road closure notices on the City's webpage, so there may be a slight delay (the road was closed when it moved to Conexus, as well as when FCC took delivery of it in the first place).

With the City's work on the 11th sidewalk not complete, I expect the press may need to go south down the alley (behind Conexus) & then north up Hamilton...or they could defer the move until the sidewalk work by the alley is complete. Either way, a road closure will be necessary.

--EDIT--
Moving the press has been deferred to the end of September.

End of Sept is also when FCC will move staff into the building (from Conexus Building, as well as some shuffling between the two towers).

Printing presses move to the new building this weekend.

Employee move has been delayed to late October & November.

Beginning next week, the Hamilton St doors of FCC Tower will be closed so that sidewalk work on the west side of Hamilton (to 11th Ave) can be completed (good to see - the sidewalk was is really rough shape).

Employees will enter FCC Tower via the main doors of Agriculture Place.

Hopefully this will include new trees that Harvard won't kill with their ice salt.

I'm hoping for trees too, but a lot of me is just glad to get the street back in general.
