TXDOT Expanding 1604 (Not Toll Project)

http://www.mysanantonio.com/communit...expansion.html

It looks like TXDOT is expanding 1604 in Converse. I thought the plan was to add toll lanes from 151 to I-10? Does this mean the toll project has been delayed or dead?

I think its still in the works, I just think this got a head start because of stimulus funds and because the plans for this project were good to go and ready for dirt to move.

Guess this means more sprawl out to that part of town.

And of course someone in that article had to go and complain, no one is ever satisfied, if he says that the community needs it that bad, why don't they pay for it? Hmm, like maybe a toll road?

On a lighter note, glad to see some of the stimulus money going to expand 1604, a small section of it, but nonetheless a head start.
