Yes, this. Just opened up this week, I'm not sure what the first day is to be able to send your kids in, but we declined.

Prices seemed high, but could be normal for the place we were offered. We weren't familiar with it.

Chatham Kent has suspended burn permits. Not allowed to have a campfire.

WTF is wrong with "authorities"? Don't they see that people are going to stop caring about rules if they start doing frivolous stuff like this?

It's so strange. Places that are a short walk away, you can't order in person if you wanted. Everything is online only. This is literally a food truck (one of my faves) but a FOOD TRUCK. And you can't walk up to it lol

I would say at this point the U.S. will likely suffer similar deaths tolls in total to that of the European Union. Similar population sizes with honest reports compared to China.

I would imagine the US will be a fair bit worse than the EU, due to the inaction of all of the southern and midwestern states. Along with extremely high rates of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, etc. relative to EU countries.

I sure don't like what's going on south of the border, especially in the South.

Hmm, when you have an idiot president who lies and sows discord between Right/Left and other groups, guess what happens when you have a national emergency that requires coordinated action and support?

Three million surgical masks, 500,000 pairs of gloves and bulk supplies of sanitiser and wipes were bought up in Australia and other countries where Greenland operates.

While the bulk purchases and shipping were perfectly legitimate, the goods shipped in bulk to China include the very items that have been in short supply for Australian citizens as well as health professionals.

They were accumulated at Greenland's Sydney headquarters and sent to China over weeks in January and February.

As coronavirus locked down Wuhan, the global Fortune 500 company put its normal work on hold and instructed staff in Australia, Canada, Turkey and elsewhere to source supplies.

This is also happening in Canada, BTW. The Chinese are still actively doing this.
Source?

At least the spread is slowing.

I would like to know what we are aiming for numbers wise. Like is it 0 new cases per day for 5 consecutive days? Instead it’s “don’t get your up, It’s going to be like this for months”.

At least Give us some kind of hope.

The spread is slowing, and I don't know their goals. It's not worth being locked down all the way to zero cases. They've said "well beyond April 30" but I do think they are being overly cautious at this point.

Hospitalizations and ICU beds continue to increase. That's the "real" COVID19.

Aren't they saying until July as a best case scenario now?

There's very little hope in peoples minds these days I think.

The Federal government said that, but that's literally in the middle of the worst two outbreaks in Ontario and Quebec.

There's no reason BC can't loosen up sooner (but not "soon"), and these things will be gradual.

BC just said they will update their models and share next week. That might give us a hint on the timeline.
