That's what this article says: Tuscaloosa Thread

Gah, a replacement. It needs to be replaced, it's well over capacity, but this is gonna cause some big headaches on Jack Warner and Rice Mine.

This is crazy. Is this coming out of left field. I haven't heard a peep about bridge replacement before.

New condos on Lake Tuscaloosa.

Construction on what will be a pedestrian bridge that will connect the River District Park to The Saban Center across Jack Warner Parkway.

Hanna Steel Announces $20M Expansion Of Tuscaloosa Facility

Not sure if it's a typo or not, but only 14 new jobs from this?

Quote:
The Tuscaloosa County Economic Development Authority (TCEDA) on Thursday announced that Hanna Steel Corp. will invest $20 million and expects to create 14 new jobs in an expansion of its steel production lines in Tuscaloosa.

TCEDA says the new investment will add equipment to expand certain slitter services to the company's production lines, which will ultimately increase the company’s footprint in Tuscaloosa County.

The steelmaker plans to add 9,000 square feet to its existing facility in the Tuscaloosa County Airport Industrial Park to support the expansion of its operations. The new equipment will also allow the company to expand production and improve productivity by increasing efficiencies in the company's manufacturing process and decreasing equipment downtime.

Along with the new jobs created, TCEDA said a number of existing employees will be promoted to support new production activities.

14 seems about right for a $20 million expansion. These days, steel production just isn't as human-labor intensive.

Better than nothing I guess. Would be nice for Tuscaloosa to land something that could help retain/attract younger professionals.

Saw the ribbon cutting for the expansion of the Riverwalk. It's going to be nice.

Would also be great if the city as a whole invested more into bike lanes.
