"Our plan is to do 60 rooms of varying sizes and amenities so there's something to fit every budget," he said.

"We are primarily focusing on students and also open to let professionals or people looking for short-term rentals to have access. We'll separate them from students.

Al-Akhali said they are still waiting for the final approval to go through city hall, but hopes to have the construction completed and students moved in by the fall of 2020.

The plans for the lower floor include the lobby for the residence and retail space.

I used to live across the street from the Guardian Building at 150 Prince Street (1966-1976) in a house since demolished. I always liked the look of the newspaper office - seemed very imposing to a child and teenager. I like the treatment they're giving to the expansion.

I know what you mean. I always thought the same of the old Post Office buildings.

Stratford development gets a big 'no' from neighbours.

The developers are looking to put in a new subdivision which will have three different types of housing. The plan is for 101 units, made up of single detached units, semi-detached townhouses and a low-rise apartment building.

The same old excuses; not in my backyard and traffic! Not valid reasons for holding up development. If this goes ahead, and I believe it will, that will be another subdivision for Stratford. As stated earlier, the town is expected to surpass the 15,000 mark in a few years, and I believe it will be sooner than that, making it the second largest community on PEI.

Any idea why they’re clearing a strip from the site down toward the bypass? I was thinking maybe water runoff control?

I keep hearing that the town is looking at the field behind Mason Rd, with a new street access into the developments behind town hall. The fact that land topography was mentioned sort leads me to think they’re looking at land between the Kinlock and Georgetown roads.

CubeSmart Self Storage

Work is underway. Backhoes are digging the foundation footings and a bulldozer is preparing the roadway.

I've heard The Brick is moving from it's current location to the Charlottetown Mall beside SportChek. Going to be roughly 20,000 sqft.
This is still significantly smaller than Leon's new store that just opened, which is roughly 40,000 sqft.
