Looks like the sale of Sycamore Brewing's building in South End has closed- Atlanta-based Portman bought the property for $9 million, property records show. Sycamore owners had purchased the site for $2.6 million in 2015. Some background on the project-

Not that I know of...but they are the few big surface lots left. I reckon they will be expensive.

Edit: a new 500+ foot tower would be nice...it would be a continuation of uptown!

Personally, I prefer the double span bridge.

A nice night in South End looking at Uptown. The city hopes to break ground on the Rail Trail Bridge in 2021 and finish the project by 2023. Live at 6

Oddly enough, I work for a SF-based tech company in Charlotte!

Unfortunately, tech is not Charlotte's strength but it is improving in this field. I saw a tweet the other day that CLT created 5000+ tech jobs from 2017-2018. More has been announced since then like the Lowes' and Truist's tech hubs. Lowes' 23-story tech center is currently under construction in South End. Fingers crossed that Truist will anchor the 6th &Tryon office tower project (hope to see the renderings in the near future). It is basically next to their future HQ. If not, the 101 N. Tryon mystery spec tower would be my 2nd choice.

Between South End and Dilworth, a local hospitality group is looking to develop three separate hotels. One is expected to break ground in early 2020.

As everyone knows, Charlotte has been granted the 30th MLS team to play in 2021. Name/Crest to be revealed later. Will play in renovated BoA stadium. A new domed stadium is planned within 10 years to be shared by both teams. The Panthers' HQ facility will move to South Carolina. MLS HQ to anchor the Old Eastland Mall site. Tepper has big development plans for Charlotte.

My coworker already made a deposit...that was fast lol.

One of the most interesting things Tepper said today was about the revitalization of the area around Eastland. Talked about how they want to turn Central Ave into a district where people want to walk/shop/eat at all kinds of multicultural businesses.

Called it International Ave
Have been waiting for this, Central is Charlotte's most diverse street.

David Tepper tells
@wsoctv
he wants the entertainment district connecting Bank of America Stadium to Gateway Station to be like Broadway in Nashville
I'm not a honky tonky person, so I rather it be more like Beale Street in Memphis. Either way, it will be hard to replicate.

Said most of the $110m pledged by the city will go to that area instead of the stadium.

Also mentioned a small 2K-4K music venue in the uptown entertainment district between Gateway and the stadium.

Was wondering what the plan was for the practice fields/bubble when the team moved to Rock Hill and we may have found it.

It is fine, I rarely get worked up over these types of comment as I find it a waste of time and energy. I got better things to then argue on forums...I barely have time to post here anyway.

Some of us love to see what is progressing in our cities. In this case, it is Charlotte. It is annoying when "anyone" posts information that isn't relative to Charlotte or photos of cities that have no bearing on this message board. I.E. photos of Nashville or Las Vegas on this Charlotte board unless it is to provide information that is related to the subject. People that thrive on instigating arguments need to get lives.
