San Antonio 6/30/07

I was downtown today with the family, so I took a few pictures. Enjoy.

Awesome! Nice photo tour. I am so psyched about going next month myself. I'm looking to visit the Grand Hyatt sales office and check out the model, 23rd floor of the Tower Life Building . If anyone is interested in joining me, you're more than welcome. I'd love to meet you.

My aunt's friend from Colorado came down to Texas today for my aunt's birthday. She flew into San Antonio and my aunt met her there. They went and had a day in the city. Her friend had never been to San Antonio, so I'm sure she'll love it.

These photos are great. San Antonio has a lot of beautiful historic buildings. The view from the Tower of the Americas is fantastic. I went to San Antonio last weekend and I have posted my photos in the main City Photos Forum. However, I did not get a chance to go to the Tower of the Americas to get an overall view of the city on this trip.

Great shots. The Hyatt's huge. didn't know it was going to be that extensive.

Looks like you had better weather than we did the last two times we visited.

Thx again. Adios

As I understand it, the building will be 553 feet long and 292 feet wide. The tower portion above the 6th floor will be 432 feet long and 89 feet wide with over 1 million gross square feet. Huge building!

The State Capitol in Austin is 586 feet long and 300 feet wide. This monster's footprint will be nearly as big and is 113 feet taller.

Thanks for the nice comments. You really have to drive around the Hyatt just to appreciate how huge and massive it is. It looks great from ground level and will be a nice addition once completed.

I was in the tower at the same time. I left around 5:00 pm or so. We just went up to the observation deck.

Sounds like you had a good time. Much better then my weekend in SA, but now its back to Houston, yeah. Nice pics, yes that building is really makeing its presence felt. I do have to say i am liking the exterior color of the Hyatt, its not pink or brown and to think the upper portion will be glass, looking good...

The Hyatt looks very impressive and imposing from ground level. This thing is going to be a beast. I like the light color too, I was disappointed at first like everyone else, but this thing is really growing on me.

I was a little disappointed as well, when it wasn't as tall as it could have been. But it is still a pretty neat building and will be great for the skyline. But man is that thing long! What is going up just south of the tower? A parking garage I assume?

I think that is the parking garage, but I am not sure.

If Im not mistaken I believe all parking is underground...I could be wrong on this. I think the portion going up south of the tower might be exibition halls? I think it will also hold the pool for guests of the hotel. The pool for the residents will of course be on the very top of condos.
