I wonder what's happening in Solars first shot. Those can't be window washers, can they?

How are they going to wash these windows anyway? When they hang from ropes on the roof, it must extend beyond the widest part of the frustums, meaning once they get to the narrow part, the platform will be at least five feet from the glass.
That's going to be awkward. I'm sure they considered this, but I cant picture the solution, besides a really long handle squeegee.

haha. you have to wonder about a lot of modern day designs, especially in Asia. It's getting crazier and crazier as far as design goes. For example these 'randomly stacked books' highrises. It's usually the first thing I think of..."How are they ever gonna clean that f'er"

Unless I'm way off base here, I can think of a pretty big "pain in the ass window washing job:"

Probably slowly replacing the broken panes and or double checking the seal.

^GEMS 2 is on hold indefinitely due to non-payment. Many unpaid parties on that project, unfortunately.

This means pretty soon Chicago will no longer be represented on this Supertall Construction forum, *SIGH*. Hopefully 400 N Lake Shore Drive will be approved and construction will start within a year.

It's all good. Chicago don't need supertalls to be the best skyline in the world.
