I just want to bring some corrections here.

First, St-Lawrence bridge does'nt exist in Montreal.... you are probably talking about Le pont Champlain.

Second, Château Frontenac is not in Ottawa but in QUEBEC CITY.

Here are pictures of those two great constructions.

(sorry, no good quality pictures for Le pont Champlain)

Château Frontenac, Quebec City

By the way, it's the 400th anniversary of Quebec City, this year of 2008. Plenty of activities and shows are organized all year long for this special event. Big productions and famous artist will visit the place like Cirque du soleil, Celine Dion, etc.

Here is the link for more informations.

^These are great examples! I gave a partial list for the USA before here is my full one, subject to modification, deletion, addition, etc. If we really want to be representative of any Countries representative structures, some at least, must be historically representative. Sorry, no pics!

1. Anasazi Cliff Dwelling - Southwestern US (almost anyone would do but there as some that are larger and more well publicized than others)
2. Cahokia - Collinsville (East St. Louis) Illinois. Circa 1000AD Mississipian Culture city and earthen pyramid structures. (Even though this is a World Hertiage Site outside of the historical/archeological community few are probably familiar with it. Too bad, it should be on everyones must see list!)
3. Antebellum southern plantation mansion - There are several excellent examples
4. Baltimore Harbor Fort - The one Star Stangled Banner made famous (or visversa!)
5. Machinac Island, Michigan - No one area is perhaps more representative of 17th, 18th and early 19th century America, problem is not too many outside of the upper Midwest would recongize it!
6. Independence Hall - Philadelhia, PA
7. White House, Capital Building, Lincoln Monument, National Cathedral - Washington DC (I was going to include the Vietnam War Memorial and Arlington Cemetery but arguably not structures)
8. Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, New York Stock Exchange, NYC
10. Sears Tower, Chicago, Il
11. Gateway Arch, St. Louis, MO
12. The Strip - Las Vegas, NV (the whole thing)
13. Hoover Dam
14. Golden Gate Bridge
15. Expressway cloverleaf interchange Los Angeles CA (you know the one!)
16. The French Quarter and Dike system, New Orleans, famous and representative, for the right and wrong reasons
17. Fort Sumter - Charleston NC

Funny, only two skyscrapers made my list!

Do you not comprehend how important the NYSE has been to the coarse of human events over the last century? If so, why can't you comprehend that his monument to modern capitalism is famous all over the world?
