My daily driver, 05 'Vette, actually gets 26-28 mpg on the highway and is a lot more fun than a Prius...

My second vehicle for the fall/winter time + camping season... basically whenever I need to go anywhere you can't go with a sports car. 96 Ford F250 with offroad mods for when I trek hundreds of KM into the bush. Shot in Jasper a few months ago.

I actually don't drive a lot though. Spend a lot of my time downtown where my GF lives and we just walk everywhere so my car only gets me to and from work since it takes me 20 minutes by car but 1 1/2 hours by bus 1 way.

Should any of you need to upgrade...

Looks like the Rolls dealership on 5th is almost open. Might be getting ready for an Opening tonight or tomorrow. Two or so cars inside.

My Pic.

There was a head one between a semi and a Hummer north of Kamloops I think last year, the two occupants in the Hummer did not survive. I remember semi vs. Civic on Hwy 1 near Chilliwack too, sheared most of the car off from the one side of the car... if you looked at that one side of the car it looked like it never been involved in an accident.

Even semi vs. semi, sure you would survive the initial impact, only to have the tons of goods behind you crush you with its momentum.

Lots of 'vettes here!

Distill3d, company Rover or your own??

I'm too lazy to post my own picture but this Mk5 GTI looks very similar to mine (similar rims/colour etc.)...

It's the perfect city car in my humble opinion

I'm not a bus person (nor do I agree with the concept of buses or the subjugation to their flaky routes and schedules), so until they build the subway to Point Grey, I'll be one of the stinking, polluting, hypocritical masses, commuting in either my mom's womanly sedan or my dad's motorbike:

Since everybody's lazy here, the first pic is generic... the car's not home currently and i'm too lazy to wait.

No kidding. Commuting with a 5.0L V8 which produces 420 HP is kind of a waste of fuel. Not to mention it is tuned for fast acceleration and not fuel economy.

The pic is generic... I wasn't too interested in searching specifically for pics of the 2.5L model, haha.

Hey I want an IS250, RWD with manual. One day.

Coldrsx, why does your nickname have RSX when you drive an S2000? Nice! I also like that Skyline behind you.

Why buy an anemic IS 250 when an IS 350 has way more power and only uses 1-2 l/100km more? Plus the IS 250 really requires premium fuel, where it is recommended only for the IS 350. So the 350 is actually cheaper to run if you can handle a 5-10% drop from 306 HP using regular. The price difference is also negligible when buying used, where an IS 250 is usually more expensive according to Autotrader listings...

Because you can't get a stick shift with the 350 (or 250 AWD). The only automatics I'll drive are cars I'm borrowing or renting, or an electric car I'll eventually own. I know I'm probably in the small minority but you'll have to pry a clutch off my cold dead left foot and a shifter off one of my cold dead hands depending if it's a LHD or RHD. Stick shift IS250s go for $26,000ish, pretty decent seeing how they start at $38,000 base. Maybe the IS350 is cheaper because people would rather have a highly tuned 2.5 than an average 3.5. I put premium fuel in my Celica anyway, Ethanol sucks!!!

While my response wasn't direct at you or to that topic, this begs the question: people actually buy the IS 250 manual??? No offense, but there are tons of better cars out there with a manual transmission...the IS 250 is among the worst you can get in a luxury car. Not to mention the combination to an anemic engine = absolutely boring and dull drive. The manual IS 250 RWD actually uses *more* fuel than the auto, that's how bad the manual is in terms of drivetrain power loss. It's as if the clutch disc was made of polished stainless steel covered with lube...

Why buy a Lexus at all, when you can get a BMW or even an Infiniti G37? A friend of mine dubbed Lexii "visor-ladymobiles"!
